Senior Finance Business Analyst
Key purpose
Group Finance has established a Programme Management Office (PMO) to strengthen governance, prioritisation and delivery of finance initiatives across the function and the wider Group. We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Analyst to help shape initiatives from early concept through to delivery readiness by clarifying business problems, defining scope, assessing impacts and translating needs into structured requirements. The role will work closely with initiative owners and project managers to ensure finance initiatives are well defined, commercially sound and set up for successful implementation.
The successful candidate will also contribute to building consistent business analysis practices, templates and standards within the PMO as the capability matures.
Key responsibilities
Initiative shaping and scoping
- Work with finance stakeholders to clarify problems, objectives and desired outcomes for proposed initiatives
- Translate high-level ideas into clear problem statements, scope boundaries and success measures
- Assess initiative readiness prior to entry into the delivery pipeline
Business case and impact analysis
- Develop fit-for-purpose business cases, including benefits, risks, dependencies and high-level resource requirements
- Perform impact assessments across finance processes, systems, controls and stakeholders
- Support prioritisation decisions through structured analysis and clear articulation of trade-offs
Process mapping and requirements
- Own the standard, quality and completeness of process mapping for initiatives and the Group Finance function
- Perform or facilitate process mapping (typically L2/L3) to ensure process visibility and shared understanding
- Translate business and process gaps into clear, structured requirements to support delivery
Delivery support and change enablement
- Work closely with Project Managers to maintain alignment between business intent and delivery execution
- Assess scope changes and support informed decision-making during delivery
- Support benefits tracking, adoption and post-implementation reviews
Capability contribution
- Contribute to the development of consistent business analysis practices within the PMO
- Act as a reference point for structured problem-solving and analytical quality
- Support the evolution of templates, standards and ways of working as the PMO matures
Experience and skills
- Proven experience in a Business Analyst or similar role within a complex corporate environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems
- Solid understanding of finance processes, reporting, systems or controls
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Experience in finance transformation, optimisation or process improvement initiatives
- Exposure to finance systems or reporting platforms
- Experience working alongside PMOs or project managers
- Familiarity with governance, control or audit environments

Qualifications
- Relevant degree (Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems or similar)
- Professional finance or analysis qualifications advantageous but not essential
