Key Purpose

The respected individual will be responsible for the financial control of Vitality Group’s central departments. You will report to the Divisional FM and form part of a team to improve and implement control frameworks, process enhancements, value-added reporting and perform the complete accounting function for the above-mentioned areas while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. To assist with the compilation of financial and project reports. Basic analysis and recons for business report input.

 

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

 

  • Support Group Accountant of Vitality Group in the execution of his duties.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends for key stakeholders that demonstrates the business performance and prospects.
  • Produce management information on the business performance, capital structure that allow for timely and accurate decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards and best practices that would be applicable to finances of the business, which includes compliance with accounting standards and group accounting policies.
  • Provide overall financial accounting support, including financial reporting, financial audit support, financial analyses and other projects as requested by the Finance team.
  • Design, implement and monitor in internal controls to protect the assets of the business, promote transparent and accurate business information and prevents losses and surprises.
  • Ensure tax compliance in foreign countries where Vitality Group operate in.
  • Provide support for our Global Mobility team who look after our expatriates who are seconded to various foreign countries where Vitality Group operate in.
  • Actively participate in strategic discussion ensuring that funding and finance activities are aligned with the business strategy and objectives.
  • Work with the finance team and other business heads to support the business.
  • Handle-day to-day accounting duties and provide monthly financial reports.
  • Maintain company accounts and balance subsidiary accounts.
  • Full financial reporting on a monthly P+L basis
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Budgets + Forecasting
  • Tax Schedules + reporting for the area
  • Ensure governance and internal financial controls are followed
  • Assist with ongoing process enhancements, automations and value-add
  • Adhoc and routine stakeholder reporting, meetings and deliverables
  • Working with the auditors, group reporting and project/market team

Education and Experience

Education:

 

  • BCom Degree (Accounting / Financial Management)
  • Post Graduate degree in Financial Management
  • CIMA / CA(SA)

 

Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years in a finance role

 

Knowledge:

  • Intermediate to Advanced: MS Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Strong attention to detail and Process
  • Advantageous – SAP S4/HANA and Sage
