Key Purpose:

 

The purpose of this position is to bridge the gap between technical products and their market through product positioning, market analysis, technical content creation, customer engagement, and collaboration. The successful candidate will be a highly analytical and technically skilled individual with a background in actuarial science. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in data analysis, modelling, and slide building to support the technical marketing function within Discovery Green and drive business growth. By joining a recently launched businesses in a newly forming industry, the successful candidate will be required to perform in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. The ability to grasp new concepts and apply learnings speedily will be a critical requirement of the role.

 

 

 

Key Outputs:

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following functions:

 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:  Conduct thorough analysis of consumption data to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Create compelling analytical content and product toolkits that clearly illustrate how Discovery Green's value propositions provide exceptional benefits to clients, advisors, and other stakeholders. Utilize statistical models to forecast customer behavior and enhance the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Analyze competitor strategies and market conditions to inform marketing decisions. Analyze new market regulations and wheeling frameworks to enhance the development of product-related content.
  • Content Development: Create technical content, including white papers, case studies, and product documentation. Support the development of marketing materials with data-driven insights. Use technical product knowledge, including understanding of competitors, to identify business opportunities.
  • Business Case Formulation: Skillfully prepare and present robust cases for review in Mancos and Exco meetings.
  • Technical Integration: Collaborate with IT and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing technologies. Evaluate and implement new marketing tools and platforms to enhance campaign effectiveness.

Education and Experience:

The following requirements are essential:

 

  • Matric
  • Actuarial Science Degree
  • 1 - 3 years’ experience with a proven record of innovation, delivery, and performance.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and reporting, preferably within a business context.
  • Exceptional slide building skills and creation of product-related materials on Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience in conducting Market research and analysis of competitor strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Modelling Skills
  • Programming Skills: Python
  • Microsoft Office

 

The following requirements will be advantageous:

 

  • Good progress with ASSA examinations
  • Experience within other Discovery Technical Marketing teams
  • Experience in Discovery product launches
  • Database management
