Key Purpose
The primary function of this role is to analyze and implement Business Process-and-System enhancements for Discovery Invest by facilitating and managing business initiatives in accordance with best practice and standards.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Conduct analysis of the Actuarial Product specs and translate the requirements into Business requirements needed for Systems development.
- Compile the Functional Requirements Specification: Design and document the User-interface, reports (quote and proposal), field functionality, business and product rules and process enhancements for Discovery Invests new Business Quoting system called Adviser360.
- Assist with the testing and validating of the functionality of the technical solution against the Functional Requirements Specification, thereby ensuring that the business requirements are delivered in the implemented solution.
- Collaborate, negotiate and co-ordinate with various stakeholders to produce and obtain sign off of Business requirements documents to ensure business processes are developed and improved.
- Act as a consultant on the Adviser360 new business system.
- Conduct root cause analysis and investigation of production defects to ensure that Adviser360 operates efficiently.
- Interfacing between the business client and the development team with regards to the business and functional requirements.
- Adherence to the deadlines set for the Functional Requirements Specifications needed for each Implementation Cycle.
- Report and provide regular updates on the progress of current tasks to stakeholders and line manager, to ensure delivery of Business initiatives.
- Root cause analysis of bugs to reduce and eliminate future risk.

Education and Experience
Education
- Matric with pure mathematics, with a minimum grade C
- Business Analysis certification a plus
- BSc Computer Sciences / Information Systems or equivalent tertiary qualification (Advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Life or Investment Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a BA or systems analytical role
- Linked investment structured product knowledge (LISP)
- System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of Discovery Invest Products (advantageous)
