About the role

We are building a pipeline of senior content talent to support a dynamic, high-performing content, marketing and communications environment. The Content Lead is responsible for leading the planning, development and delivery of high-quality content across multiple platforms and formats. This role combines strong writing and editorial expertise with leadership, operational rigour and strategic thinking. The Content Lead works closely with cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into clear, engaging and effective content, while also managing contributors and ensuring consistent quality, tone and execution across all deliverables.

 

Key Purpose

The Content Lead is accountable for overseeing end-to-end content delivery from idea development and planning through to execution and optimisation. This includes guiding content delivery at an operational level, managing workflows and resources, and ensuring content outputs are aligned to audience needs and communication objectives. The role also includes developing content strategies for clients, translating client objectives into clear content approaches, frameworks and execution plans.

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

    • Developing content strategies for clients based on business objectives, audience insights and platform requirements 
    • Translating client briefs into clear content approaches, narrative frameworks and execution plans 
    • Identifying opportunities for thought leadership and narrative development 
    • Using insights and data to inform content narratives 
    • Planning and managing daily content operations, priorities and delivery schedules 
    • Managing workflows, timelines, documentation and administration 
    • Project managing larger content initiatives when needed 
    • Managing and guiding freelance writers and content contributors 
    • Collaborating with marketing, editorial, communications and project teams to generate and refine content ideas 
    • Working with clients and internal stakeholders to shape and refine content strategy recommendations 
    • Presenting content ideas and recommendations to stakeholders 
    • Briefing and working with external partners including designers and agencies 
    • Developing high-quality content across multiple platforms and formats 
    • Translating complex topics into clear, engaging and accessible content 
    • Ensuring consistency of tone, voice and quality across all outputs 
    • Supporting executive and leadership content initiatives where required, including designers and agencies

Education and Experience

    • Relevant tertiary qualification (marketing, communication, journalism, writing or related field)
    • Extensive professional writing and content development experience
    • Approximately 8 – 10 years’ experience in content, communications, digital or agency environments
    • Experience working across digital platforms
    • Experience developing content strategies or content approaches for clients or stakeholders
