Key Purpose
The main responsibility of the role is to provide technical support to the credit control and premium collection function at Discovery Life. This involves ensuring that processes and procedures are in place for successful premium collection, that corrective measures are taken for unsuccessful premium collections and that policy refunds or credits are correctly administered. This also requires testing new business processes and enhancements, as well as sourcing data or reports for analysis and further action.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Contribute to business plan (test scenarios) with testers about new releases to ensure this runs efficiently.
- Assist with testing new releases, enhancements, data fixes and client notifications .
- Liaising with team leaders across all business teams to schedule and test various processes.
- Actioning exception reports to ensure all premiums due are scheduled for collection.
- Responsible for refunds, credits and debits of ex-gratia or ad-hoc process on policies to make sure payment and credit requests are valid, authorized and timeously processed.
- Providing credentialed data expertise and technical analysis support to various product and project teams.
- Management reporting to guide business decisions. This includes oversight of the manual auto lapse business process.
- Reporting – adhoc data requests plus analysis.
- Manage assigned projects.

Qualification & Experience
Essential:
- Matric
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Policy Administration, or Finance
- Product Knowledge in SA Life Insurance Industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Advantageous:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a Team Leader (or similar) position
- Accounting or Finance Qualification
