Key Purpose 

This role combines client service, claims management, and relationship building.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of high-value clients and brokers, handle complex claims, and deliver a world-class service experience.

The role requires a proactive, solutions-driven individual who can manage escalations, drive retention, and support business growth.

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of Platinum, VIP brokers and clients.
  • Manage end-to-end claims processes (motor and non-motor), ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Provide intermediary services, including handling short-term insurance customer service and ensuring new additions to policies are processed when requested.
  • Handle escalated queries, complaints, and service failures with professionalism and empathy.
  • Conduct detailed portfolio reviews and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support new business placement and ensure competitive quoting.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external service providers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Educate clients and brokers on systems and processes to enable self-service.
  • Attend regular broker meetings and provide strategic input on service delivery.
  • Teamwork, self-management and alignment with Discovery values.
  • Adherence to risk and compliance requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Matric (Essential)
  • FAIS credits - full qualification (Essential)
  • RE5 certification (Essential)
  • Class of Business certificate (COB) (Essential and/or Advantageous)
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) certificate (Essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ short term insurance claims and/or client service (financial advice) experience (Essential)
  • Claims processing – motor and non-motor
  • Client and broker servicing
  • Portfolio and relationship management
  • Working with service providers and escalations
  • Degree (Advantageous)
