Key Purpose 

This role falls within the Discovery Group Forensic department and reports to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be required to investigate all issues pertaining to Invest and Group Life fraud.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to 

The successful job applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following broad job functions:

  • Conducting Investigations into all aspects pertaining to Investment Fraud and Group Life Fraud including death claims, funeral claims, other product benefits within the scope of Invest and Group Life.
  • Work independently or in group and communicate clear and concise findings of the investigations to Management. (Investigation report)
  • Collecting, evaluating and handling of evidence
  • Advice management of fraud preventative measures after analysing data to identify possible fraud trends.
  • Interview suspects, staff and management to obtain measurable findings. Includes taking of Statements and Affidavits and reporting where necessary to South African Police Services. 
  • Valid Driver license and own vehicle to support investigation related work
  • Travelling for Investigation related work.
  • Doing administrative tasks

 Education and Experience

 

Minimum requirements:

  • 5 Years work experience related to investigating Investment and Group Life Fraud.
  • ACFE qualified / Member of ACFE
  • 5 to 10 years Investigative background, specialising in either Invest or Group Life investigations
  • Relevant Diploma / degree.
  • Good understanding of Investment and Group Life  products, systems and processes.
