Key PurposeThe key purpose of the Junior front office Liabilities Consultant is to support the liabilities team in the investigation and administration of third-party claims by gathering accurate information, assisting clients and insurers, and ensuring that all claim information and documentation is complete, accurate and aligned with company processes.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Assist with the administration and processing of third-party liability claims (e.g., motor accidents, property damage, injury claims)
- Collect and capture claim information and supporting documentation accurately on internal systems
- Collect and compile evidence such as statements, photographs, accident reports and police reports
- Assist liability consultants with investigations and claim assessments
- Liaise with clients, third parties, insurers, brokers, assessors and service providers to obtain required information
- Ensure all claim documentation is complete, accurate and compliant with company procedures
- Maintain accurate claim records and update claim files on relevant systems
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Liabilities Team
- Assist with follow-ups on outstanding information or documentation required to progress claims
- Support and assist the team in ensuring efficient claim turnaround times and service delivery
- Adhere to risk, governance and compliance requirements
- Demonstrate teamwork, self-management and alignment with Discovery values
Education and Experience
- Matric (Essential).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a short-term insurance liabilities department (Essential)
- Degree (Advantageous)
