Key Purpose
The Marketing Assistant is a member of a high-performance marketing team that partners with the Discovery Vitality business to implement marketing solutions and contributes to the delivery of digital and marketing communications for Discovery Vitality.
The Marketing Assistant will provide support on marketing projects and integrated marketing campaigns in the Vitality Fitness portfolio, work closely with external and internal stakeholders and assist with running partner campaigns.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- First line quality check and proof reading
- Monitor delivery against the project plan
- Follow up on activities in the plan
- Administrative support for example
- Quotes
- Orders
- Version control
- Keep project plans updated
- Brief agency and content team on specific campaigns and communications needed
Competencies
- Project management and administrative skill
- MS office
- Effectively proof read documents
- Critique basic design in line with Discovery’s conventions
- Build relationships in order to get things done
- Question processes, strategy and outputs
- Cope with ‘curve balls
- Creative flair
- Basic writing skills for client letters, brochures, web copy etc.
Education and Experience
- Qualifications
- Minimum 3-year undergraduate marketing or communication degree or diploma
- Knowledge
- How what you do fits into the greater Discovery picture
- What makes a good brief
- Production, procurement and sign off processes
- What makes good and bad language and grammar
- Discovery’s language style and conventions
