Key Purpose 

The primary purpose of the Discovery Insure Third-Party Recoveries Team Leader is to oversee and manage the daily operations of the recovery process, ensuring that both business and customer objectives are met.

The role focuses on delivering maximum value to internal and external customers, while upholding Discovery Insure's core values and fostering a positive team environment.

 Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to 

• Oversee all management responsibilities within the scope of the role.
• Set clear performance goals and targets for each advisor.
• Prioritise tasks for self and others in line with objective and business requirements.
• Provide regular reporting to management, including updates on the operations dashboard and team performance metrics.
• Handle escalated queries from various internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all recovery escalations are managed and completed in the turnaround times.
• Conduct regular quality audits to ensure team adherence to standards.
• Coaching of team to enhance team performance.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
• Drive the achievement of departmental goals and targets through effective leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with other insurance companies to support recovery efforts.

Education and Experience

 Matric (Essential)

• 4 years’ minimum experience in a recoveries and/or liabilities and/or claims role within a short term insurance environment (Essential)
• 2 years’ minimum Team Leader experience in the Short Term Insurance sector (Essential)
• Relevant Degree (Advantageous)
