Key Purpose
To lead and continuously improve the Discovery Connect Recruitment Hub as a high-volume, high-quality recruitment function that enables business growth by attracting, selecting and onboarding exceptional talent at the right pace. The role is responsible for building an efficient, data-led and future-fit recruitment environment, strengthening recruitment practices through market insight and best practice, and developing a capable, accountable and engaged recruitment team. This includes bringing subject matter expertise to the business, as well as integrating recruitment strategies with the business strategy.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:
• Lead the Discovery Connect Recruitment Hub as a centralised recruitment engine, ensuring the team is structured, resourced, prioritised and equipped to meet high-volume hiring demand across all Discovery Connect products.
• Stay closely aligned to the Discovery Connect business strategy, ensuring recruitment plans, priorities, workforce assumptions and delivery capacity support business growth, product priorities, operational demand and evolving workforce requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop the recruitment team, building capability, accountability, engagement and a high-performance culture, while proactively managing team performance, development needs, workload, and morale.
• Deliver against agreed recruitment targets and service levels, including time to fill, pipeline conversion, monthly volume requirements, quality of hire and SLA adherence, while ensuring that speed does not compromise candidate quality.
• Attract, source and select high-quality talent for agent and specialist roles across Discovery Connect, using effective sourcing strategies, robust screening methods and fit-for-purpose assessments to identify candidates with the right skills, behaviours and potential.
• Drive ongoing recruitment process improvement, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, duplication and delays across the recruitment value chain, and implementing practical solutions to improve turnaround time, candidate flow, hiring manager experience and recruiter productivity.
• Use recruitment data and insights to improve decision-making, providing accurate reporting and trend analysis on hiring volumes, pipeline health, SLA performance, quality of hire, early attrition, sourcing effectiveness and recruitment risks.
• Regularly present the recruitment strategy, performance updates and key insights to Exco, management forums and relevant leadership teams, ensuring clear visibility of hiring progress, risks, trends, capacity constraints and recommended actions.
• Stay informed on recruitment trends, workforce shifts and best practice, particularly in high-volume, contact centre and sales environments, and translate relevant insights into improved sourcing, assessment, selection and onboarding practices.
• Champion transformation, fairness and compliance by ensuring recruitment practices support Employment Equity objectives, Skills Development priorities, fit and proper requirements, background screening standards, and all relevant HR policies and governance requirements.

Education and Experience
Qualification:
• Bachelors Degree or NQF level 7 equivalent: HR/BA/equivalent
Experience:
• At least 5 years’ work experience in recruitment.
• 1- 2 years’ management level experience within recruitment (advantageous)
• Advantageous: Sales and call centre recruitment exposure in a target-driven environment.
• Knowledge of Success Factors (SAP) (advantageous)
