Key Purpose
Discovery Insure is looking for a high-performance Retentions Consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in upholding our client relationships and delivering exceptional value in the customer journey.
This role requires a professional who can combine financial insight and advice, customer empathy, and strong negotiation skills to retain policies whilst reinforcing the unique value of Discovery Insure’s innovative insurance model and the Vitality Drive benefits ecosystem.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
Customer Retention Excellence
- Consistently achieve and exceed retention targets through customer-focused, value-driven conversations.
- Conduct high-quality retention engagements that reinforce the value of Discovery Insure products and services.
Customer Value and Advisory
- Provide tailored financial guidance based on each customer’s risk profile, needs, and policy structure.
- Clearly articulate the value of the Discovery Insure offering, including the benefits of Vitality Drive and associated rewards.
- Re-sell and reinforce product value for newly acquired customers considering cancellation.
Retentions Initiatives
- Identify and implement proactive retention initiatives to reduce policy cancellations.
- Use available tools, insights, and data to personalise retention solutions for each customer.
Market and Competitor Insight
- Continuously build knowledge of competitor offerings, and industry trends.
- Apply competitor insights strategically to strengthen retention conversations and reinforce Discovery Insure’s value proposition.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate and timely administration across all required systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to risk, compliance, and regulatory standards within all engagements.
Performance and Culture
- Drive targets with a competitive, results-driven mindset while maintaining high ethical standards.

Education and Experience
- Matric (Essential)
- FAIS Credits - full qualification (Essential)
- RE5 qualification (Essential)
- Class of business certificate (Essential and/or advantageous)
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) certificate (Essential and/or advantageous)
- Minimum 3 or more years retentions and/or experience in the short-term insurance industry (Essential)
- Minimum 1 years’ servicing experience (Advantageous)
- Degree (Advantageous)
