Role overview

We're looking for a dynamic Senior Marketing Consultant to join the Discovery Bank marketing team, focusing on client engagement. In this role, you'll lead marketing efforts across a portfolio of banking products – including payments, digital features, rewards and Vitality Money – with the goal of keeping clients engaged. You'll work across strategy, content, campaigns, and creative development to bring our innovative features to life and encourage clients to spend, save and bank better with Discovery.

 

Key Purpose

To drive adoption and engagement across Discovery Bank’s client engagement product portfolio.

 

  • The Senior Marketing Consultant is a member of a high-performance marketing team with a specific focus on deepening client engagement, driving usage and spend, and bringing digital products to life through meaningful, high-impact marketing.
  • You will work closely with business teams to implement marketing solutions, and contribute to the delivery of digital and marketing communications for Discovery Bank. 
  • You will be responsible for running marketing projects from strategy to execution – including communication campaigns, social media, app and website updates – while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

  • Responsible for the marketing of the following Discovery Bank products and features to drive awareness and create engagement while meeting business objectives:
  • Payments (Discovery Pay, PayShap, virtual cards, Forex, Vitality Pay and device partners)
  • Digital features (Financial Analyser, Digital vouchers, Value Added Services, Smart Vault)
  • Vitality Money

 

  • Marketing strategy and execution:
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies and campaigns to drive product awareness, engagement, and retention.
  • Leverage insights and data to guide targeted communication.

 

  • Content creation:
  • Write, edit and proof-read compelling, client-facing copy for emailers, push notifications, social media, and more.
  • Translate technical product features into easy-to-understand and engaging messaging.
  • Manage content updates across Discovery Bank’s digital platforms.

 

  • Campaign management:
  • Manage timelines, briefs, and stakeholder approvals from concept through to execution.
  • Work with creative agencies to develop impactful marketing material.
  • Track performance, prepare post-campaign reports, and optimise based on results.

 

  • Partner and stakeholder engagement:
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key business teams, both at a strategic and operational level.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver campaigns and initiatives.
  • Working across teams. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior business people and cross-departmental teams, to help achieve company and business unit objectives.

Education and Experience

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-year undergraduate degree or diploma (Preferable: communication or marketing focused)
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years-experience in Marketing, PR or Communication
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of basic marketing and digital marketing
  • Proven track record in developing and executing marketing campaigns

 

Advantageous:

  • Background in client engagement marketing
  • Experience working with product, data, and agency teams
  • Understanding of Discovery Bank, Vitality or the Discovery ecosystem
