Key Purpose

 

We are looking for a driven and strategic Wealth Manager to join our team at Discovery. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong drive for achieving results swiftly, thriving in a diverse work environment, and acting as a catalyst for change within the organization. This role demands a competitive and innovative professional who excels in independent work and can persuade others.

 

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

 

  • Acquisitions: Drive upgrades and integration with the Discovery product suite for existing Discovery Bank clients.

 

  • Financial Planning and Portfolio Management: Assist clients in making informed decisions about their investments to align with their financial goals and gather financial information. Provide tailored advice on portfolio management based on clients' risk tolerance, time horizon, and liquidity needs. Manage client portfolios to provide knowledge-based advice that aligns with their financial objectives.

 

  • Market expert: Stay updated on economic trends affecting investments and provide market condition updates through newsletters or other written materials. The ability to consider the macro-economic environment in determining client portfolios. 
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Work with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for the wealth management division.
  • Contribute to setting goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.

 

  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings to ensure clients' financial plans remain aligned with their objectives.

 

  • Investment Strategy Development:
  • Create and implement customized investment strategies for clients based on their financial goals, risk tolerance, and market conditions.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust investment strategies to optimize performance.

 

  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess potential risks in client portfolios and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensure clients are aware of the risks associated with their investments and provide guidance on risk management.

 

  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients.

Work Experience

  • 3 – 7 years’ proven experience as a Financial Adviser or Wealth Manager.
  • Demonstrated success in upselling and cross-selling financial products.
  • Experience in managing client portfolios and providing investment advice.
  • Strong background in financial planning

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies, Law, or Finance required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are advantageous.
  • FAIS Compliance.
  • RE 1 / RE 5
