Key Purpose

The Head of Regional Sales Operations will be responsible for leading the expansion of the Discovery Connect business into other regions, as well as providing leadership and managerial oversight to enable the success of regional operations teams.

 

Key Outputs

Regional Expansion

  • Partner with the CEO and Head of People to develop and implement a fit for purpose business structure.
  • Enable an effective recruitment drive and process to find the best talent to support the structure and goals of the business.
  • Manage all logistics associated with setting up a new office (such as facilities, office operations, health and safety).
  • Manage the budget efficiently by ensuring that spend is within the specified thresholds and aligned to the needs of the business.

People Leadership

  • Embed the culture, values, and vision of the organisation.
  • Inspire and motivate teams to work towards the strategy and collective goals of the business.
  • Openly share knowledge and skills with others, actively seeking to expose employees to new and relevant information.
  • Create an environment in which learning and development is emphasised and valued.
  • Take personal accountability for coaching and mentoring others.
  • Develop and implement a talent pipeline strategy.

 

Regional Sales Operations

  • Partner with the Heads of Sales to enable and drive the performance of sales teams.
  • Partner with the Analytics team and Heads of Sales to create effective business reports.
  • Keep abreast of all changes in the external market and best practice.
  • Implement initiatives as set by EXCO and DCDS Board.
  • Manage office expenses vs budget allocation.
  • Manage any risk and compliance incidents.

 

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification (NQF level 7 equivalent) or the equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing sales functions, which includes starting up a new sales function/business

 

Advantageous Requirements

  • An NQF level 8 qualification
  • More than 10 years sales experience
